Robert Schinke:Exellence and You/心得報告

Compared to previous speakers, the speech of this time impressed me the most. Different from other speakers spent almost all the time talking about how to change the education, professor Robert Schinke focused more on how to maintain our physical and mental health.

Being a freshmen, studying hard to get a excellent grade is no longer be the only goal in our life, but learning to balance or mix all components of each day properly is what we should pay attention on. We should allocate time properly in order to live a calm but fulfilling life, and I considered that correctly accept things that meaningful for me, or firmly reject something I couldn't bear is what I need to learn now.

Moreover, being mentally healthy is one of vital factors in our university life. For this, professor Robert Schinke suggested us develop some good habits, such as being around positive people as possible as we can, connecting with family, understanding our sleep cycle, and so on. Among various kind of life skills, the part which taught us the importance of exercising sufficiently was helpful for me. I usually give up exercising for the sake of studying, and it gradually became the excuse to avoid exercising because of laziness. After listening professor Robert Schinke's presentation, I finally realized that doing sports not only can keep physically and mentally healthy, but also make my brain more clear and be more efficiently.

In addition to be healthy, professor Robert Schinke also suggested us set our objections. By choosing three challenging and specific achievable goals, we can stick it everywhere we may pass by to remind us to move towards our goals every day. However, he also emphasized that we didn't need to lost confidence because of failure, but instead take every failure as a great lesson for ourselves. If we can do as mentioned above, there can be no doubt that we enable to be a healthy and positive student in our precious and wonderful university life.

Lastly, Thank professor Robert Schinke again for the practical content of the lecture.
